Players in the Fighting Clams program, as well as the program’s alumni, have been receiving a lot of recognition lately. It certainly bodes well for the high school season to come, or the college season currently underway.
Just last week, INSIDE LACROSSE came out with its Top 25 college freshmen ranking, and the Clam program once again had representatives. This time around, it was attackman Logan Liljeberg who came in at #25 for the great start he’s had for the Sacred Heart Pioneers. As of the time of writing, he had 6 goals and a team-high 12 assists; the team is currently 4-4.
On the high school side, one publication’s preseason player rankings list has just concluded, and another is in the process of being put out. For now, we’ll focus on the one that has just been completed, put forth by the NEW ENGLAND LACROSSE JOURNAL.
Of the 100 best Massachusetts public and prep school players, the Clams account for a total of 24. Only one other club program has more total players on this list. The Clam program has more top ranked defensemen than any other club, according to this list, and has the second most goalies and attackmen. In a separate Top 100 list focusing on players outside of Massachusetts, the Clams also have two players represented.
