Coach Cleveland was born and grew up in Arlington, MA, and played for Coach Justin Waker at the Rivers School in Weston, MA. A two sport-varsity athlete at Rivers, he was a two time ISL All-star selection at the attack position for lacrosse. In college, coach Cleveland played for Colgate University, a division 1 school in Hamilton, NY that plays in the Patriot League. As a member of the Colgate Men’s lacrosse team, Coach Cleveland started all but two of all of the games during his time there, and was the team leader in points for 4 years in a row. Playing as a midfielder for the first time in the spring of 2018, Coach Cleveland was awarded an All-Patriot league selection for the first time. He currently sits 4th all time at Colgate in career assists (80) and has a career total of 144 points. Coach Cleveland has been coaching both the Clams and the Littlenecks for over 5 years and is in charge of player development for the Littlenecks! Sam is also the head coach at Lawrence Academy in Groton, MA.
