Coach Bio
Coach Westgate has been a part of Top Gun and the Clams since 1996 (Clams Class of ‘03). He played 4 years at Sandwich High School and joined one of the original Clams teams during his junior and senior year. Ronnie played 4 years as a goaltender at Providence College from ’02-’06. During his four years at PC, he served as team captain during his sophomore, junior and senior seasons while the Friars captured 2 MAAC Conference Championships. PC earned its first bids to the NCAA D1 tournament in ’04 (vs. Johns Hopkins) and ’06 (vs. Hofstra). After college, Ronnie coached for 5 seasons at Wellesley HS and was part of an undefeated regular season in 2011. He coached the 2012 season at Providence College where he worked with the goaltenders and defense, preparing for Big East opponents like Syracuse, Notre Dame and Villanova. Coach Westgate works full time for the Fighting Clams, manages our operations, and helps coach our goalies! He also is our resident rules expert; Ronnie has been refereeing high school and college games in New England for over 8 years!
